The family run Gitschberg hotel lies at the foot of the famous mountain of Gitschberg, from which the hotel takes its name. The surrounding area, with its picturesque meadows and forests, is well suited for visitors who enjoy walking and winter sports.

From this vantage point (1400 m) you have a fantastic panorama of the legendary Dolomites, and the valleys of Pustertal and Brixner Talkessel, which are steeped in tradition. This breathtaking view cannot fail to enchant you time and time again.

Naturally, the charm of the alpine huts must not be missed: hot punch and mulled wine warm up the body and spirit just as much as the swinging music of the traditional après ski party.

Simply put on your skies and off you go! The very impressive ski resort of Gitschberg Jochtal is only a few minutes walking distance from the hotel. The resort is well-known for its excellent skiing conditions with its 44 km of pisted runs on the sunny side of the mountain. There is something for even the smallest of visitors, namely the "Zwergele Winterwelt"; a children's amusement attraction, which promises fun and games.

Active sportsmen and -women can work off some of that unwanted energy by tobogganing either on the artificial or natural toboggan runs.

And for those people who want something more relaxing and restful, simply take a walk through the dreamy and romantic winter-land by making use of the wide range of marked footpaths and cross-country skiing tracks or you can enjoy the lovely experience of a horse-drawn sleigh ride.
