More than 200 kilometers of competition-caliber ski trails lead out through the high valley surrounding the Achensee, which is nestled like a fjord between the mountains of the Rofangebirge to the east and the Karwendelgebirge to the west. Fans of classic and skating technique all discover an outstanding, award-winning trail system with routes that vary in difficulty.Beginners can take all the time in the world on the Practice Trail, learning to brake, change tracks, as well as to fall correctly in case of emergency. And if you like to bring along your four-legged friend, no one will object in the slightest out on the designated Dog Trail. Our Special Tip: The trails through the gently ascending Karwendel valleys, right outside of Pertisau, also home to rustic alpine huts that offer delightful opportunities for refreshment breaks.

And as of this season, there is a brand-new feature in the Achensee: trails accessible to cross-country sleds. On eight of our ski trails, wheelchair users on sleds can merge onto the track and enjoy some 41 kilometers of the winter countryside which flanks the Achensee. If you would like to learn more about this sport, you can borrow a sled from the ski school in Pertisau, where the teacher will give you some useful tips.
