Unforgettable Cross-Country Landscape in Tauferer Ahrntal

In the most-beautiful cul de sac of South Tyrol, cross-country skiers can find 50 km of loops, bends, and turns - in the midst of the majestic backdrop of 80 summits having an elevation of 3,000 meters or more. In the area of the Nature Park, starting at the right of the main village, Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures - in the idyllic high-altitude village of Rein/Riva di Tures - at an altidude of 1,500 meters above sea-level, you'll find: Four different groomed trails, with a length of from 3 to 15 km and different degrees of difficulty; complete ski-service, including ski rental, instruction, and showers in the recently-constructed cross-country center. The Alpine village of Weissenbach/Rio Bianco is located at an altitude of 1,300 meters above sea-level, and is a popular goal for every age category. The main attraction is the circular cross-country trail, which has a length of 12 km and 110 meters of altitude differential. The starting point next to the sport center is simultaneously the starting point for tobogganing enthusiasts and wintertime hikers. The trio of high-altitude cross-country trails offers an impressive panorama and the station in Kasern/Casere at the farthest head of the valley. The start of the 10-km-long trail - the final segment of which is quite challenging - is at the information point of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park/Parco Naturale Vedrette di Ries-Aurina, which has only recently been constructed (it also serves as a skirental and service stop). The shooting range for biathletes is suitable both for competitions and for training purposes. The high-altitude cross-country trails in Kasern/Casere, Weissenbach/Rio Bianco, and Rein/Riva di Tures have a length totaling 50 km, and are characterized by very reliable snow.
