Zermatt is famous because of the Matterhorn. But did you know that there are another 38 peaks around Zermatt that exceed the magical height of 4,000 mmetres above sea level? It´s therefore no wonder that our village is firmly rooted in alpinism; this has shaped the development of tourism over the last 200 years and, even today, mountaineering, climbing and high altitude touring are still an important part of our core expertise. With the Alpine Week, we are giving you the opportunity to obtain a good overview of the wide range of alpine activities that are available.
