First World Cup win for Daniel Albrecht

Daniel Albrecht celebrated his first World Cup win of his career on Thirsday after he put down two excellent runs on the Birds of Prey slope in Beaver Creek and won the super combined competition.First podium for Grange Albrecht, the 24-year-old Swiss racer, showed an excellent downhill leg of the super combined and a solid slalom run and beat France’s Jean-Baptiste Grange and Ondrej Bank from the Czech Republic. This is the first World Cup podium for the French slalom specialist Grange. He was by far the fastest man in the slalom part and moved from position 37 to 2. Austrian Favorites in the back of the field For the Austrians it was a tough day as only one racer finished in the top ten. Rainer Schönfelder finished in 7th position. Other favorites such as Mario Matt (28th) and Benjamin Raich (35th) couldn´t deliver on Thursday. SKI WORLD CUP |
