HUBLOT POLO GOLD CUP GSTAAD 2010

In 2010 the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad will celebrate its 15th edition. For the third time, the tournament will be organised in partnership with Hublot. The Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad will take place from 19 - 22 August on the grounds of the Saanen/Gstaad airfield. The four participating teams are looking forward to playing again on this fabulous ground of the Berner Oberland – an absolute must in the series of the most prestigious international polo tournaments. The Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad is part of the World Polo Tour (WPT), the listing featuring the world’s top polo tournaments which, in turn, establish the international ranking of the polo players. This year again, the four participating high goal teams play with a handicap of 16 to 18. They are captained by Gualtiero Giori (I), Philipp Maeder (CH), Stefano Marsaglia (I) and Fabien Pictet (CH), four passionate polo players with a long lasting experience of the Gstaad polo ground. During the three competition days each player will try to score as many goals as possible with the aim to improve his individual position on the World Polo Tour ranking list. Each team will do its level best to win the Hublot Polo Gold Cup Gstaad 2010, this year’s major objective being to challenge Fabien Pictet’s team, the winner of the two precedent Gstaad tournaments. The organisers expect a superb and captivating sports event. “Each year, our major objective is to offer a unique and fabulous experience in one of the world’s most spectacular settings to our public of sports aficionados and to our partners”, says Pierre Genecand, President of the Polo Club Gstaad and organiser of the tournament. “We are extremely happy that Hublot and our dedicated partners share our passion for this fine and superb equestrian sport”, he adds.
