News from SkiWelt in Winter Season 2009-10 Millions for even more modern facilities, new services, new attractions

With investment into infrastructure, as well as many other new features and improvements that ensure even better service for guests, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental goes into the 2009/2010 winter season well equipped: improved snow machines, new huts, new season pass deals and the latest services online or via mobile phone – and the very special attraction, the new ALPENIGLU® Igloo Village in Hochbrixen. SkiWelt sets the trends in winter sports.

10 million Euros on infrastructure – SkiWelt offers winter sport at its most sophisticated

Ever better, increasingly state-of-the-art! No fewer than 10 million Euros have been invested this year in improvements in the infrastructure at SkiWelt: New in Ellmau is “Ellmi’s 6er” – a detachable 6-seater chairlift with heated seats in the Schmiedalm area (the popular, now shorter, Schmiedalm drag lift will stay). Other investments in Ellmau: construction of the Tanzboden reservoir (110,000 m3) and upgrade of the snowmaking equipment to generate 1,000 litres/second. Now, 80 percent of the slopes in Ellmau and Going can be completely covered with “artificial” snow in just 70 hours. The snowmaking system has also been expanded for the valley run in Hopfgarten, making the sunny, family-friendly descent even more snow-reliable and attractive.

Investment at Westendorf has predominantly involved gastronomy: No fewer than four new Alpine huts (all with service!) now invite visitors to stop for a break this winter season. The Choralm mountain restaurant is particularly impressive which, with its glass facade, presents incomparable panoramic views across the mountain world. A special attraction is the ALPENIGLU® Igloo Village, which from this winter season will be enchanting guests at the top lift station in Hochbrixen. A facility with a wide variety of features, also for the day-guest – ranging from an ice-experience hotel with romantic igloo suites, a cool restaurant with hot meals on the ice table, exhibitions with ice sculptures and ice carving, hot drinks at the cool snow bar, torch-lit hikes through the magical white forest to complete experience packages.
