Schild and Vonn exult after slalom competition

Marlies Schild didn´t only win the fifth World Cup victory of the winter but also won the little crystal globe with altogether 640 points ahead of Nicole Hosp who reached 515 points in this discipline. In 1:52,78 minutes the 26 years old set the minimum time ahead of Veronika Zuzulova and Sarka Zahrobska. Nicole Hosp became forth.Schild claims crown in slalom discipline In the first run Marlies Schild laid the headstone to win the second slalom World Cup in a row. The Austrian set the minimum time. Beside Schild only Hosp and Poutiainen had the chance to get the little crystal globe. Poutiainen became eighth at the end and so had no say in the fight anymore. Neither Hosp could get close to her team mate´s time. She dropped back behind Zuzulova. Vonn clinches overall World Cup title Lindsey Vonn profited by the good conditions at the beginning of the final. There she made it from position 25 to eleven and scored enough points to become unbeatable for her competitors concerning the overall World Cup. Maria Riesch who raked behind her friend inthis standings so far, didn´t see the finish and so she had to let Nicole Hosp pass by. SKI WORLD CUP |
