Second season win for Denise Karbon

On Saturday in Panorama, Canada Denise Karbon celebrated another victory in the Giant Slalom by beating Austria´s Elisabeth Görgl and Manuela Moelgg of Italy.

Strong Italian team
Karbon already won the opener in Soelden at the end of October and now has 200 points in the Giant Slalom World Cup after two races anf took the lead in the Overall World Cup and is the leader of a strong Italian team.

Tough day for the favorites
The Austrian favorites Marlies Schild and Nicole Hosp had a tough day. Schild was fourth in the end and Hosp, after a brilliant first run, almost crashed out in the final and was only in 16th place after that. The Olympic Champion Julia Mancuso came in 10th and Anja Paerson was only in 17th position.

Slalom on Sunday
A slalom race is scheduled for Sunday when Marlies Schild should be the main favorite for the victory. She won the first slalom of the season on the Reiteralm and was also the dominatin slalom racer last season.
