Slalom globe goes to Moelgg – Herbst wins slalom

Reinfried Herbst is the winner of the last slalom of the season 2007/2008. For the second time he was on the very top of the podium this winter. For being up there it was enough to clock the time of 1:51,31 minutes and be ahead of Daniel Albrecht by 32 hundredths of a second and young Austrian Marcel Hirscher on the third position. Italy´s Manfred Moelgg caused exultation in the finish area as he clinched the little slalom globe in the last second.

Grange gives lead in slalom standings away
After the first run Manfred Moelgg has been ahead and so he had put the so far leader in the slalom standings, Jean-Baptiste Grange, under much pressure. And Grange couldn´t stand that pressure. A mistake short before the finish cost a top position and so the French dropped back on place 16 which didn´t count for World Cup points. Moelgg showed a safety run afterwards but it was enough to catch up the 21 missing points on Grange.

Miller ahead of Raich and Cuche in the overall ranking
Overall World Cup winner Bode Miller resigned a start in slalom. Benjamin Raich became fifth and so he could finally rank behind Miller in the overall World Cup standings. Didier Cuche who had already won the globe for downhill ahead of time became third in that ranking.
