Winter openings and current events at European glacier ski resorts

Punctually to a perfect winter start all European glacier skiresorts already have up to 30cm of fresh snow. After the successfull winter openings at the Hintertuxer and Kaunertaler Glacier, the remaining glacier ski resorts are celebrating their starts into the new winter season.
The opening in Saas-Fee has already taken place October 6th. For 7 weeks boarders can test the newest equipment of 13 leading manufacturers in the so-called “Snowboardbox” in Saas-Fee.
From 18th – 22nd of October the 19th “Glacier Testival” will take place at the Stubaier Glacier. You’ll have the possibility to test the newest highlights of the winter season 2006/07.
The ski resort Sölden will be home to the FIS ski world cup for the 10th time. This year’s first world cup race will be on 28th/29th of October. After the women’s race on Saturday, the men will compete on Sunday.
The Mölltaler Glacier will open in the course of the “Mölltal Openings” from 26th to 29th of October 2006. This year’s snowboard show by the world champion Sigi Grabner will be a real pleasure for every boarder.
During the “White Start” (November 18th-19th 2006) to this year’s winter season you can test winter sports products of leading manufacturers for free at the Kitzsteinhorn. And while visiting the Pitztaler Glacier, you can enjoy this winter season’s fresh snow from 07th to 10th of December together with “DER TOURS”.
