Gustav Mahler composed two of his major works in Toblach, which will open the South Tyrol Festival every year: ‘Das Lied von der Erde’ and the 9th Symphony. In addition to Mahler’s music there will be presented music by contemporary composers, Richard Strauss – Mahlers musical counterpart - and his ‘Alpensymphonie’ and the world of the Bel Canto, where the dramatic art of the voice coincides with the melody of the orchestra.

The project is called "Heugabel" and describes the farmer market and the farmer life.
