Resort Review Almenwelt LOFER - Experts

Two black runs make professional training at the “Lofer” resort possible.

Evaluation Experts: Almenwelt LOFER: Evaluation: 3
It goes without saying that Lofer is certainly not a Pro or teamskier resort. A brief glance at the trail map quickly reveals that gentle and intermediate terrain dominate the resort. However, the two black slopes 10 and 12 (see trail map) are two pretty demanding runs. Thus Lofer is definitley worth a quick side-trip. Unfortunately all black runs can only be reached by t-bar lifts, which get uncomfortably steep in some sections. And you will certainly look in vain for permanently installed training or speed measure runs at the “Lofer” resort. However due to its two black slopes, the ski area fully earns its two stars in this category coming within a whisker of getting three stars.

Pretty demanding: The black run (10) from the "Postalm".
On the numerous easy (blue) and intermediate (red) runs you seldomly find steep passages.
With enough skills on your side you can check out the off-piste descents.
If there is enough snow, you can choose from a rich option of off-piste descents.
Apart from the two category black runs pro-riders will have to check out the many category blue and red runs.
The "Schönbühel" lift will take you 1.2 kilometers up hill.
