Resort Review Alta - Beginners

Beatiful beginner area at the "Albion" and the "Sunnyside" lifts!

Evaluation Beginners: Alta: Evaluation: 4
Although Alta enjoys the reputation of being one of the most demanding ski resorts in Utah the ski resort still obtains the excellent result of 4 stars in the beginner category. A total of 25% of Alta’s terrain is earmarked green. All easy terrain is located around the "Albion", "Sunnyside" und "Cecret" lifts. We therefore recommend all beginners not to park at the “Wildcat Base” (see trail map) but directly at the “Albion Base” to access the ski resort at the beginner area. The descents in the upper areas of the ski resort are doubtlessly too challenging. All those who have had some experience on skis can take the “sugarloaf” chair and access the intermediate trails 35 (“Little Dipper”) and 37 (“Waldron’s Way”). Beginners should definitely keep away from the chair lifts “Collins” and “Wildcat” as these take the winter tourists into very challenging terrain. Perfect spots for very first steps on skis are the “Grizzly Tow” and the “Lodge Tow” lifts in the valley, which are completely free of charge. And after 3 o’clock the use of the “Sunnyside” chair is free as well! See details on alta.com.

"Grizzly tow", ski for free there the entire day!
