Resort Review Andermatt - Snowboarders
Fun park and wide slopes !

The slopes between the „Gurschelalp“ (2015m) and the „Gemsstock“ (2963m) are comfortably wide and thus perfect carving grounds. Novice riders should check out the gentle terrain (blue) around the „Gurschelalp“. A little more practiced riders can also go for the „St. Anna Gletscher“ run down from the „Gemsstock“. When snowcover is good there are some nice off-piste options alongside the slope for all those who still need to work on their deep-snow technique. But true powder seekers really get their moneys worth in Andermatt! It is not for nothing that the ski resort hosts the annual "King of Mountain Freeride Race" where 900 meters in altitude on ungroomed terrain need to be overcome. If you are willing to do some short hiking there is an abundance of beautiful powdery terrain to dive into at your disposal! If you prefer the groomed to the ungroomed terrain don't miss the category black „B-Russi“ run! The terrain at the subarea „ Nätschen“ / „Gütsch“ can be recommended to riders of every skill level. Boarders should try to avoid the base area descent from „Nätschen“ down to „Andermatt“ as is rather annoying due to being rather narrow and flat in some passages. A small downer in Andermatt are the outdated lift faciltities and the missing halfpipe. The small fun park with boxes, rails, etc. however, located alongside the 2-passenger chair lift at the „Gurschelalp“, can keep you entertained for some time! Al those who want some more versified airtime might want to take the free train to the neighboring resort „Dieni“ (Cuolm Val (2215m)) where you’ll find a fun park which features also a half pipe.
