Resort Review Aspen Buttermilk - Beginners
Buttermilk - a resort especially for beginners!

Each of the four ski resorts in Aspen is conceived to perfectly fit a certain ability level. First choice for ski novices is definitely Buttermilk. The entire ski resort is practically a huge novice area. Right at the entrance you are spoilt for choice whether to make use of the beginner lifts "Panda Peak", "Ski School Lift" and the "Ski School Magic Carpet" or access the 2963m high East Peak with the quadruple “Summit Express Chair”. From there super flat trails like "Homestead Road" or "Sterner Catwalk" lead back down into the valley. All those that have stood on skis before can venture into intermediate grounds (earmarked blue). The trails “Bear” or “jakob`s Ladder” are definitely also beginner friendly. The “Buttermilk West Lift” also accesses numerous gentle trails at the 3018m (9900) high West Peak. Solely the difficult terrain above the “Upper Tiehack” should be avoided by novice skiers. Our conclusion: Aspen Buttermilk is the perfect beginner ski resort and definitely merits our highest mark of 5 stars in the beginner category!
