Aspen can afford to dedicate an entire ski resort to only one target group. Aspen-Village is surrounded by four skiresorts, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk. Therefore it is not at all bothersome that Buttermilk is only suitable for families, novice skiers and due to the excellent terrain parks for boarders. It’s a fact however that boarders and freeskiers that don’t want to spend the entire day in terrain parks must visit one of the other ski resorts in order to find challenge. Buttermilk is the perfect beginner and family resort, especially because good skiers do avoid Buttermilk.
