Highlands: The most challenging mountain in Aspen!
With Snowmass, Buttermilk, Highlands and Aspen Mountain (Ajax), winter vacationers have a choice between four ski-areas in one shot. Aspen Highlands is geared toward advanced skiers and freeriders more than anyone else. If you want to get to Aspen from Denver by car, you’ll have a relatively long drive of 217 miles ahead of you (Interstate 70, then heading south at Glenwood Springs on CO82). An alternative to the long drive would be a direct flight into the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. There are direct flights from Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Phoenix. Highlands Village is located about two miles outside of Aspen. But because the few paid parking lots in Highland normally fill up pretty quickly, we recommend you park at Aspen Buttermilk and take the complimentary shuttle bus to Highlands.| Final grade: |
