Skiers and snowboarders be aware! There is not one single easy slope to be found at “Aspen Mountain”, something you should keep in mind before you hop onto the “Silver Queen Gondola” which takes you directly to the Aspen Mountain Peak. A skiing day at Ajax will certainly leave a lasting impression. The easiest trails back into the valley take you across the "Doodle", "Spar Gulch" und "Little Nell" slopes back to the “Silver Queen Gondola” or alternatively along the north face via Buckhorn", "Midway Road", "Ruthie´s Run" and "Summer Road" to the "Shadow Mountain" Lift. I you want to linger around the peak you can choose between some not too demanding cruisers trails, perfect terrain to practice your carving techniques. We especially enjoyed the “Silver Bell” and “Buckhorn” trails! The “Ajax Express” takes the winter athletes back to the peak in no time at all! Intermediate skiers should note that the tree-skiing terrain at “Gentleman`s Ridge” and the “Ridge Bell” is among the most difficult terrain to be found in the Rockies (details see expert category). Only very skilled skiers should venture into the difficult grounds!!
