Solely a total of 6 % of Snowmass terrain are earmarked green (very easy). Nevertheless the trails especially in the lower regions of the ski resort qualify as gentle. If you are not completely new to snow-sports you can easily also venture into the intermediate grounds (earmarked blue). Real novice skiers however should stick to the practicing slopes “Assay Hill” and “Fanny Hill” located just above Snowmass Village. And once first insecurities are overcome we recommend transferring to the “Funnel Trail” at the “Elk Camp Gondola”. Also the intermediate cruiser trails (blue) at the “Elk Camp Lift” is terrain that less skilled skiers should be able to master. Our conclusion: The majority of Snowmass`s terrain is destined for skilled skiers. Our tip: With help of the “Ski & Snowboard School” (located in Snowmass Village) even novices to snow-sports can tap the whole potential of the ski resort!
