There was a time in Aspen when snowboarding was actually forbidden. These times are long over and today Snowmass is a great destination for boarders. Buttermilk might feature the larger obstacles in the “Crazy T`rain Park”, but Snowmass offers more diversity as three terrain parks are located in the resort. The “Scooper Park” at the “Village Express” is the place to be for all those that still need some practice in the “air & style” department. The brand new “Makaha Park” at the “Elk Camp Gondola” is destined for skilled boarders, and the new “Snowmass Terrainpark” boasts the largest jumps and rails and a super large super-pipe. Snowmass large advantage over Buttermilk: Buttermilks skiable terrain amounts to only 37 km of rather gentle slopes, Snowmass however offers 137 km of skiable terrain of all ability levels. From snowboard novices to powder aces, suitable terrain for every ability level is certainly to be found in Snowmass!
