The ski lift association connecting the villages Avoriaz, Morzine and Les Gets belongs to one of the largest ski resorts in France and is part of a bi-national ski lift association between France and Switzerland named “Portes du Soleil”. It is situated on the south of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman). For those coming from the south it is most conveniently accessible via the highway A40 connecting point Chuses-laSardagne (18) and then change to the Route des Grandes Alpes (D902). From the north the journey is most recommendable via Thonon (-les Bains) at Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) then also continue on the Route des Grandes Alpes to Morzine. The village Morzine provides only few parking lots free of charge therefore one might have to use the parking garage with costs in the center of the village. We therefore recommend driving to the neighbour village Les Gets as large parking lots can be found at the mountain bases and accessing the ski resort is really easy. Of course one can also leave ones car in Avoriaz but the ascent to Avoriaz might be a little more difficult as it is situated 1800m above sea level. In addition the parking lot in Avoriaz is with costs.
