o get to the point: very few ski resorts are better suited for learning how to ski or snowboard than the charming Axalp in the Bernese Oberland. The best area for beginners to practice is the bunny slope at the base terminal of the triple chair lift, which is also where the ski and snowboard school can be found. But even if it's your very first day on skis, there's no reason for you to limit yourself to the bunny slope at Axalp. The blue trails in the upper part of the resort (Chrutmettli Nr. 1, Wasserfall Nr. 2 and Chiemad Nr. 3) as well as those down in the village (Dotzweg Nr. 8 and Hüttboden Nr. 9) are all very easy. Beginners can ski the entire resort without worries and take full advantage of their already extremely reasonably-priced lift tickets. Since we have absolutely nothing negative to say about Axalp in this category, it receives our highest rating of 5 stars.
