Resort Review Axalp Brienz - Families

Axalp: The practically perfect family retreat!

Evaluation Families: Axalp Brienz: Evaluation: 4
Axalp was designed completely with beginners and families with small children in mind. At the base terminal of the tripe chair lift Windegg is a short practice t-bar lift (without a tow line) and a pull lift with cute fairytale characters which takes the kids up to the kids park. In the children's paradise, „Axiland“, there are two free practice lifts and seating available where parents can watch their kids play in the snow. Axalp also encompasses 5 miles (8km) of winter hiking trails, a cross-country skiing trail and a small sledding run. Parents can explore almost the entire family-friendly ski area in the company of their children. Except for the ungroomed Nr. 7 slope (please see trail map), almost every trail is easy and safe enough to be skied by even the littlest of ski fans. The ski and snowboard school at Axalp offers half-day and full-day lessons so that parents get a chance to explore the slopes alone. The downside: if the parents are good skiers, they might be disappointed by the limited selection of slopes.
