There aren't very many places you can ski against a backdrop as impressive as the one at Belalp on the Great Aletsch Glacier - the longest glacier in all of Europe. If you're even a semi-good skier, you definitely need to ski the black trail 14 to the „Aletschbord“ - the edge of the Aletsch Glacier (not too difficult), to catch a glimpse of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Great Aletsch Glacier. Almost half of the 37 miles (60km)of slopes are marked „red“ and the black trails off of the 1.9 mile-high Hohstock will give even more athletic skiers a run for their money. The most scenic trail for advanced skiers: the long „Häx unten“ trail (No.4).
