Being that Skischaukel Berwangertal’s ski area is specifically geared toward beginners and families with little beginners, expert skiers shouldn’t be surprised to find it somewhat lacking in expert slopes. With just 1.5 kilometers of black trails, you might find yourself yawning after the first couple of runs. The ones off of Oberer Rastkopf (1740m) are primarily intermediates, but might help placate your need for some speed. Snowfall and avalanche risk-levels allowing, you will also find some opportunities to spray some off-piste powder between Oberer Rastkopf and Brand or Rinnen. But in the end, expert skiers and freeriders will be better served at one of the other ski areas in the arena. And thanks to the regional ski pass allowing you entrance to all six of them, changing over to one of the more challenging areas is no problem at all.
