The Marienberg ski resort – a mountainful of winter fun!
The idyllic little ski resort of Marienberg at Biberwier is the smallest in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, with only 14 total kilometers of trails. The best way to get there from Munich is via the A95 heading toward Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Once you get to Garmisch-Griesen, you’ve reached the Austrian border, and after another 13 km you’ll be at the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. At that point you’ll just need to drive through Ehrwald in the direction of Biberwier (for directions to the resort coming from other directions, please see the website www.langes.at!). There are two free parking lots at the base, but if you happen to be staying in one of the other villages in the area (such as Ehrwald or Lermoos), you may just want to take advantage of the free shuttle bus that will take you back and forth from the ski area.
