Breuil-Cervinia - The Italian ski resort on the Matterhorn!
The ski resort Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche is nested in the Aosta Valley, directly on the border to Switzerland at the foot of the Matterhorn to the south. The Matterhorn, called„Cervino“ in Italian, is one of the highest peaks in the Alps, with its summit at 14,690 feet (4478 m). Breuil-Cervinia's 92 miles (148km) of groomed slopes stretch between 5000 (1524m) and 11,400 ft (3480m) above sea-level. Including the Swiss side of the shared ski area, Zermatt, there is a total of 194 miles (313km) of trails. This report, however, only covers the Italian side of the resort in the Italian valley towns of Breuil-Cervinia (6726ft / 2050m) and Valtournenche (5000ft / 1524m). Zermatt.) Breuil-Cervinia's 24 lifts are capable of moving 42,669 people an hour. The resort can only be reached from the south and from the autobahn A5 (E25) Turin-Aosta. Exit at Châtillon/Saint Vincent and continue for 17 miles (28km) until you get to Cervinia. Valtournenche is located 12 miles (19km) north of Châtillon and 5.5 miles (9km) south of Breuil-Cervinia.

Reduced skipasses for Seniors and Juniors, free skipasses for infants. Multi-day Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche skipasses vaild for one day in another resort in the Aosta Valley. Half-day skipasses (morning until 1.00pm, afternoon from 12.00pm) and 3 and 4 hour skipasses available. For groups, one free skipass for every twelve purchased. Promotional periods at the beginning and end of the season.
