Disentis is definitely the insider's tip for freeriders in Grisons (so spread the word!!!) Its practically endless off-piste possibilities for all levels of ability will make skiers and snowboarders alike start itching to get out. Beginners and families are at a disadvantage, as Disentis has very little to offer in the beginners category. Advanced winter athletes, on the other hand, will certainly get their money's worth with the high proportion of red slopes. The other catch: as is common in Switzerland, the apres-ski party atmosphere is also missing at the end of the day. But if it's a peaceful ski vacation on guaranteed powder slopes you're looking for, one trip to Disentis might turn you into a regular.
