„Fellhorn-Kanzelwand“: The best you get in the „Allgäu“!

The resort at the „Fellhorn“ and the „Kanzelwand“ is located at the heart oft he „Allgäu“ and very close to the famous German winter sports location „Oberstdorf“. The skiing area goes as far as the Austrian „Kleinwalsertal“ all the way to „Riezlern“. The best way to reach „Oberstdorf“ is via the A 7 all the to the highway junction „Allgäu“. Here you switch over to the A380 which you exit at „Waltenhoven“ and then take the B19 to „Oberstdorf“. You can either enter the resort on the German side at „Fasitenoy“ (5 kilometers away from „Oberstdorf“ or you head for the Austrian „Riezlern“. From „Oberstdorf“ just follow the signage to the „Kanzelwandbahn“ (entrance Austria) or to the „Fellhornbahn“ (entrance Germany). What is noteworthy in this case is that on the German side you’ll find a lot more parking space directly at the base area oft he new „Fellhorn“ 8-passenger gondola. On the Austrian side you also pay fort he parking which is another disadvantage. All in all 12 mostly up-to-date ski lift facilities transport 30.000 passengers per hour up hill to the category blue and red runs around the „Fellhorn“ (2037m) and the „Kanzelwand“ (2059m).
