As aforementioned Galtür is rather small and can therefore not be counted among the top resorts for expert skiers. However Galtür can offer even the best among skiers a fun day out on the slopes. Right by the lift facilities Ballunspitzbahn, Birkhahnbahn and Breitspitzbahn three black trails are to be found. They are fun to ski but expert skiers might find them lacking in spine tingling qualities. The place to be for expert skiers in Galtür is at the Breitspitzbahn lift. One of the three ungroomed trails is located there (trail nr 1), an official Fis racing track and also slope nr 2 (please see trail map) is definitely recommendable terrain. Unfortunately the majority of the trails marked red (intermediate) are little challenging and will probably not live up to an expert skiers expectation. It is thus recommandable that very skilled skiers also visit close by Ischgl when on holiday in Galtür.
