Resort Review Grindelwald First - Beginners

Almost all runs at the resort can be managed by beginners!

Evaluation Beginners: Grindelwald First: Evaluation: 4
A large number of category blue slopes can be found at the mountain station of the 4 passenger chair-lift „Schilt“. Apart from that the comfortable ski-lift also makes things easier. What we found to be a great plus is the „Speed-limit-30“ slope at the „Oberjoch“ (2500m). Riding at the super-wide and easy run Nr. 1 is limited to a speed of 30 km/h. Signs remind riders of sticking to the speed limit. That way beginners are able to practice without fear of getting run over. A great idea that we warmly recommend to other resorts. One oft he problems is the base area descent. You’ll find no category blue slope leading down tot he valley. Either beginners have to take the category blue run Nr. 15 or the category red runs Nr. 22 or 23. Therefore we recommend to less experienced riders to take the gondola „Grindelwald-First“ located at the „Schreckfeld“ back down. As the connected resort „Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen“ also offers some nice runs for beginners, the resort „Grindelwald-First“ fully deserves ist 4 stars in this category.
