Pros should definitely check out the nearby resort „Schilthorn“!

At the resort „Grindelwald-First“ 90% of all slopes belong into the category easy or intermediate. The only slopes interesting to highly skilled skiers are the category black runs Nr. 5 at the t-bar lift „Egg“ and particularly the (partly ungroomed) slope Nr. 15 down from the „Schreckfeld“ to the middle station oft he „Grindelwald-First“ gondola. That however is not a real disadvantage fort he resort as you can also use your skiing pass for the area „Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen“ where you even find an world cup run („Lauberhorn“) interesting to all highly skilled riders. Even more recommendable to pros is the nearby resort „Mürren-Schilthorn“ with its 10 kilometer „Inferno-Route“ (slopes Nr. 10, 12,15,16,2 and 3), one oft he most challenging runs in Switzerland. To those who enjoy freeriding „Grindelwald-First“ however offers more than enough. Particularly at the 2500 meters high „Oberjoch“ freeriders will always find an untouched powder run. Although the downhill gradient lies at maximum 30% and therefore is not that steep, you should always keep an eye on the current avalanche situation .
