Resort Review Hinterstoder Höss - Beginners
The bunny slopes at Hutterer Boden are the perfect practice spot!

Though less than one third of the trails at Hinterstoder are blue (easy) trails, the resort does have quite a few advantages for less-experienced winter athletes. When you get off of the Hossbahn gondola, you’ll have a good view of all the beginner trails at the resort. If it’s your very first time on skis, you’ll be glad to have the two magic carpets lifts at your disposal in the “Sunny Kids Park.” Slightly more advanced beginners can check out the Larchen lift, Schul lift and Sonnkogel lift tows (please see trail map). The slopes coming off of them are very short and easy, and will lead you back to Hutterer Boden. A slightly longer alternative is the very scenic, generously-spaced Familienabfahrt trail (3), which you can reach by taking the Hoss-Express six pack. If you’d like to take a few lessons, you’ll find the Stodertal winter sports school (Wintersportschule) not far from the base terminal of the Hossbahn lift. The only drawback for beginners at Hinterstoder: the only trails leading back into the valley from the upper ski area are a black (Weltcupstrecke) and a red (no.1). That being the case, we recommend that beginners take the gondola back.
