We’ll get straight to the point: Hinterstoder received our test team’s award for being one of the top resorts for families – “Top Family Resort.” So your family won’t have to go to an expensive, major resort in order to find an array of activities for the kids. And the service here doesn’t suffer due to the more reasonable prices, either. There’s a reliable daycare called the “Zwergennest” at Hutterer Hoss where you can rest assured that your little ones will be in good hands while you explore the slopes. Once they’re old enough to ski, take them to the Sunny Kids Park at the upper terminal of the Hossbahn gondola, where they’ll find a beautifully designed practice area with two magic carpet lifts, an obstacle course and much more. If you plan on exploring the resort with your kids at your side, we recommend the not overly steep “Panorama” trails off the 2000er lift (the highest point in the ski area). The long blue trail, Familienabfahrt (3), and the trails off of the Schul lift are also worth checking out. And another great thing about the trails is that apart from nos. 1 and 2, all of them come out at Hutterer Boden, making it possible for parents to always keep an eye on the kids. The only problems in this category were the very limited number of trails - making it difficult for families to spend more than a couple days at the resort, and the lack of an easy trail leading back into the valley. That being said, with a total of 4.5 stars in the Families category, Hinterstoder just barely missed out on a perfect score.
