Resort Review Hinterstoder Höss - Snowboarders
"Fun & Action Hill," the freestyler’s paradise set above Hutterer Boden.

The incredibly-well equipped terrain park off the Alm lift at Hinterstoder is without a doubt the best snowboarding park in upper Austria. Rainbow rails, straight rails and 9 meter-wide kickers are all to be found there. The park itself is 300 meters long and is connected to the ski area by the Alm lift. But those boarders who prefer spending their time on or off-piste might find themselves a little irritated by the number of tows in the ski area. Eleven of the resort’s 19 total lifts are tows, so as a snowboarder you’ll want to make sure you’ve had some experience with if you plan on having fun at Hinterstoder. What helps make up for the inconvenience of the tows are the great slopes up above Hutterer Boden (almost all of which can be reached with the very modern Hoss Express chairlift). And after a good snowfall (which thanks to Hinterstoder’s easterly location, is no rarity), off-pisters will find plenty of great powder off of nearly every groomed trail in the resort. Hinterstoder receives a very respectable rating of 4 out of 5 stars in the Snowboarding category.
