Hintertux's glacial wonderland -Winter-Eldorado more than 3000m above sea-level!
Hintertux's glacial ski area, Austria's only year-round resort, is located at the end of the Ziller Valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. To get there, take the Inn Valley Motorway (Inntalautobahn A12) and exit at Achensee-Zillertal. Then follow B181 and B169 about another 50km until you get to Hintertux. Since the ski area's base is located at 1500m above sea-level, blowing snow can often make the trip there extremely challenging, so don't forget to bring your snow chains! You could also catch the Postbus from Mayrhofen to Hintertux. When you get to the base, take either the Gletscherbus 1 or the Sommerberg gondola to reach the breathtaking glacial wonderland surrounding the peak of the 3476 meter Olperer.| Final grade: |
