The Hintertux Glacier is way overtaxing for beginners in down hill skiing. Right after leaving the mountain station (Gletscherbus 3) they are confronted with quite a challenge. The steep slope leading towards the tow lifts is demanding even for experienced skiers. The parallel running tow lifts Olperer 1 and Olperer 2 take the winter tourists up to the Gr. Kaserer (3268m). There two easy (blue) slopes (9 and 9a) enable also beginners to glide down the slopes. All in all beginners won’t have too much fun here as also the descent to the base is problematic due to it being quite icy in the summertime. However one can avoid this slope as the gondolas can be also used to descent to the valley.
