Better for snowshoeing and winter hiking

The Hochficht ski area can turn into a winter wonderland covered in snow. Therefore, there are definitely opportunities to ski off-piste. For example, ski route 11, which runs under the Zwieselberg chairlift, is popular. However, this terrain falls more into the realm of moguls instead of freeride adventure. Route 10, which takes you from Hochficht to the Reischlberg slope, also runs beautifully through the forest, but again doesn't really remind you of deep-snow descents. If you're looking for pristine terrain and deep snow up to your waist, you're better off in the Alps.

For snowshoe hikers, however, the area is very good! There are beautiful, designated winter hiking trails.
