The Hochkar is one of the largest ski resorts in Lower Austria.

The Hochkar is situated in Lower Austria in the very east of the Austrian alps. With an altitude between 1480 and 1808m above sea level, the Hochkar is one of the places with the largest amounts of snow in Austria. From the north and the east (Vienna or Germany) the ski resort is most comfortably accessable by using the “Westautobahn A1” (western highway), exit Ybbs. Continue on the main road B25 till “Göstling an der Ybbs”. Once you reach Göstling there are only two kilometres left till you reach the “Mautstelle Lassing” (tollgate Lassing) where you have to buy the tickets for the skiing-area. If you take the highway A1 coming from Germany, it´s possibly better to leave the highway at the exit Amstetten. Continue on the main road 121 via Waidhofen until you reach Göstling. The transport capacity of the lift facilities at the Hochkar is 16000 persons per hour. Combined with the large parking areas at the base station, it is guaranteed to access the ski resort quickly and in a very comfortable way.
