Large – Larger – winter empire: Hochkönig

The ski resort at the mountain Hochkönig (2941m above sea level) is situated circa 50km from Salzburg. Coming from the north we recommend taking the toll free road B159 through Salzburg. However in order to take this road one should have knowledge of the infrastructure of the provincial capital Salzburg. Those who want to take the more comfortable way should pay the toll (7Euro) and take the A10 to get from Salzburg to Villach. Coming from the south it is most recommendable to take the A10 motorway via “Spittal”. To get to one of the four base areas you should leave the motorway at the exit “Bischofshofen” and drive in direction “Mühlbach am Hochkönig”. The parking lot is in walking distance ( 50m to 300m) to the base station. The parking lots at the other base areas “Dienten”, “Hinterthal”, and “Aberg – Langeck” are also maximum 300m away from the gondolas.
