Colorado is among the most beautiful ski regions in the world. Every skilled skier should ski in the USA at least once. And Keystone is an absolute must-do (or must-ski :-) ). A total of 407 hectares of intermediate terrain are at the visitors’ disposal. Definitely enough to entertain athletic skiers for several days! Especially at “Dercum Mountain” and at the “North Peak” (see trail map) beautiful intermediate level slopes like the "Frenchman", "Santa Fe" or "Spilway" are to be found. But also at the third peak “the Outback” several nice intermediate trails are located round the “Outback Express”. Apart from the groomed slopes there is more challenging ungroomed terrain to be enjoyed every where. The “Cat Dancer” at the “North Peak” for instance or the numerous “Tree Runs” below the “Outpost Gondola” (see trail map). With some caution we think any black run can be mastered by intermediate skiers. Solely the “Powder Runs” at the remoter corners of the resort in the “Independence Bowl”, “Erickson Bowl" or "South Bowl" should be left to expert skiers solely. The terrain cannot be accessed via lift facilities but only on foot anyway. The soaring mountain scenery at Keystone with views of even the lake in Dillon completes the very good result in the intermediate skier category. 4 out of 5 possible stars.
