No fun park, but wonderful outback riding!

Valuation Snowboarders:
Loferer Almbahnen: Valuation

Same as in the other categories, one has to differ between the various skill levels when rating the resort at “Lofer”. Beginners on the snowboard will definitely have a good time at “Lofer”. The two baby/practice lifts at the “Lofer” base station and at the mountain station of the “Loferer Alm-Bahn 2” offer great options to improve an unskilled riders’ skills. For athletic and professional riders the skiing area at “Lofer” won’t be that exciting. Unfortunately no fun park exists and the general options concerning slopes can’t compete with big skiing resorts like e.g. “Saalbach Hinterglemm-Leogang” only 50 kilometers away. Unbeatable, however, are the outback powder runs at the plateau between the “Schönbühel” (1623m) and the “Schwarzeck” (1565m). For riders who are more interested in powder runs than in park sessions will have a wonderful time at the “Lofer” resort.

With enough snow on the ground the resort offers numerous intersting and safe off-piste descents.
Great powder!
Watch out: At the end of the base area descent and at the base area of the "Family Express" boarders will have to take off their snowboard due to really even passages.
From the "Schönbühel" (1623m) you can cruise down one of the several comfortably wide slopes.
The wide and not avarage steep slopes are great for snowboarders.
The "Märchenwald" slope is, as its name says(Märchen=fairy tale), truely fairy-tale like.
