Apart from excellent skiing conditions the rustical and cosy alpine lodges, après ski centers and the great night life in the valleys make this a world class ski resort. On the Penkenjoch (2095 m), a huge plateau is to be found where numerous lodges and bars see to the wellbeing of the winter tourists. The other large culinary centre is situated at the Penken gondola which takes you from Mayrhofen right into the skiresort. At this meeting point you will find something to please every palate!! An alternative meeting point with view of the funpark is to be found at the bases of 150 Tux and the Sun-Jet. For those who prefer a more tranquil cosy atmosphere should try the beautiful rustic alpine lodges on the Rastkogl or at Eggalm. A real insider tip is the Waldhütte (forrest lodge) that is situated somewhere on the ski route between Rastkogl and Eggalm. A “Willi” (pear schnapps) there costs only 1 Euro. The Nightlife in the valley too leaves nothing to be desired. Right at the base station of the Finkenberger Almbahn for example (Finkenberg gondola) a nice après ski bar is situated. And a visit to the discos, Pubs and other localities in Mayrhofen make the day on the slopes complete.
