Entering the Mölltal (Möll valley) one can hardly imagine that there is a great glacier ski resort above the Innerfragant massif. Once one reaches the glacier plateau one is greeted by the sunny atmosphere of glacier skiing in Carinthia at an altitude of 3122 m above sea level. The glacier ski resort “Mölltaler Gletscher” is rather young (the first lift was installed in 1987). Hence this glacier ski resort is not as known as glacier ski resorts in Tyrol (e.g. Sölden or Stubai). But this doesn´t mean that the resort at the foot of the Schareck mountain cannot compete with these famous ski resorts. Every ski enthusiast should visit the Mölltaler Glacier to see how beautiful glacier skiing really is in Carinthia.
