Mt Buller: Valuation

Unfortunately the snowmaking systems covers only one single black marked run (the Howqua beneath the summit). Mt Buller is renowned for its steep slopes, such as Bloody Hell, Men`s Downhill or Fast One. However these slopes can only be accessed by experts when there is an abundance of natural snow. You will certainly ruin your equipment when you go down these slopes while they are still closed. But the intermediate level terrain, like Little Buller Spur is also interesting for better skiers. All in all Mt Buller is worth a day trip for expert skiers even in pre-season or in spring. If you plan a longer stay on the mountain, make sure the more demanding slopes are open and that there is enough snow cover on the steeper runs. 3.5 stars out of 5 for Mt Buller in the experts category.
