Mt Buller – so much magic!

“So much magic”- is Mt Buller’s slogan. And when you have a look at some of the fast facts one understands why. Mt Buller Alpine Village, situated at an altitude of 1600m, only 248 km north-east of Melbourne (easy three-hour drive), features the largest lifting system in Victoria with a capacity to move 40.000 skiers per hour. Mt Buller offers a total of 80km of groomed slopes, 18km covered by snowmaking systems (which is essential in an Australian ski resort). Mt Buller Alpine Village is easily accessible via the Hume Freeway. Exit the freeway at Yea if you come from Melbourne or leave at Benalla if you drive southwards. Follow the signs to Mansfield and then further on to Mt Buller. Be aware, that an entry fee must be paid when entering any alpine resort in Australia. A fee of 30 $ is due for entering Mt Buller resort by car. Furthermore in all Australian alpine resorts snow chains are compulsory. They can be rented at one of the shops in the near town Mansfield. From the car park, a free bus shuttle service takes the visitors up to Mt Buller Alpine Village, the entry gate to one of Australias major ski resorts.
