If you have a look at the trail map of the ski resort “Skiarena Nassfeld Hermagor” you can see immediately that for the most part the ski resort features intermediate level terrain (marked red). These slopes are rather challenging and fit the demands of beginners only to a lesser extent. You really need a little bit of experience and practice in alpine skiing if you want to tap the whole potential of the ski resort embedded between the Gamitzenberg (1951 m) and the Tröpolacher Alm (1658 m). The most beautiful easy descents (marked blue) are slope number 23 a leading down from the “Tressdorfer Höhe” to “Sonnenalpe” and slope number 2 at the “Watschinger Alm”. Please have a look at the trail map. If you want to take the very first steps on skis or on snowboard we recommend the practice areas at the mountain pass (lifts number 14 – 16) and at the lift facilities 35, 30 and 31 at the gondola middle station of the Millenium-Express. These are the perfect places to improve your skiing or boarding skills. Unfortunately you can only access most easy slopes by skiing intermediate level terrain before. Moreover we dissuade beginners to ski the red marked slope down to the base station of the Millenium-Express in Tröpolach. This descent gets extremely steep especially at the tailpiece. Beginners better use the Millenium-Express gondola to return safely and comfortably to the valley.
