The winter sports area „Obertauern“ is a true Eldorado fort the ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The 19 long intermediate trails amid the beautiful picturesque mountain scenery will make any ski and snowboarder brim over with enthusiasm. Especially recommendable are the descents around the Seekareck let alone the intermediate trails descending from the Zehnerkar. Athletic skiers should also be able to master some of the difficult runs, especially the slope next to the Schaidbergbahn. A further highlight in this ski resort is the Tauernrunde (Tauern round) If one follows the proper signs one can explore the entire ski resort on mostly beautifully laid out slopes. One can either take on the Tauernrunde clockwise (red Tauernrunde) or counter clockwise (green Tauernrunde). Due to the excellent array for the intermediate skier, Obertauern obtains our highest mark of 5 stars in this category.
