If you are familiar with the huge skiing-areas in Austria, you will probably be surprised by the poor après ski possibilities of most ski resorts in Switzerland. Crowded après ski locations or discos at the base stations are scarce. Ovronnaz is not an exception. Instead of loud music Ovronnaz offers winter-tourists cosy ambiance and local, hearty meals. The skiing lodge Jorasse (1940 meters above the sea level) is the ski resort`s only restaurant. Nevertheless it sees perfectly to the wellbeing of the winter athletes. Moreover the Jorasse has a very large sunny patio where one can savour the tasty meals while enjoying a great view from the Valais valley to the highest mountains of Switzerland and France. Down in Ovronnaz you can find the famous spa “Thermalp” which makes sure recreation is possible even after a long day on skis. Furthermore there are some small and rustic restaurants down in Ovronnaz where one can enjoy traditional Valais meals. Unfortunately restaurants in Switzerland really challenge the wallet.
